Frequently Asked Questions

Do you travel?

Yes! the mother thread is based in Danbury, CT, but I lead events in a 25 mile radius at no additional cost. After 25 miles, travel to your venue is $1.40/mile one way.

What if I don’t know what I want in the ceremony?

That’s perfectly okay! Whether you come with a clear vision or no idea at all, we’ll create something meaningful together. You can hand pick what elements you want included, or simply leave it in Elisabeth’s hands. Regardless you’re going to love the experience!

What if I’m planning this Blessing on behalf of someone else?

This is very common! About half the inquiries I get, if not more, are from a friend, mother, sister, aunt of the Mama of honor. The initial consultation call will be between us to discuss what you’re looking for. If you choose to book with me, there is an included 1-hour long in depth discussion between myself and the Mama to explore what she needs from this ceremony, and process the feelings that come up as she embarks on this chapter of motherhood.

I don’t know where to host the event. Can you help?

Absolutely. The venue space needs to be private, usually this is the home or backyard of the host. I have also had luck finding beautiful, affordable rentals of areas at local parks, beaches or lakesides, and botanical gardens. The key here is we need privacy and a peaceful atmosphere, so nothing that’s going to draw our attention away from this moment for the Mama.

How early do I need to book?

I recommend 6-8 weeks in advance. I can occasionally be available shorter notice, so just give me a call/email and we can figure something out! I try my best to make it happen so we can have a magical, memorable, healing day :)

What month of pregnancy should the Blessing take place?

I suggest month 7-8 of the pregnancy. Mother blessings typically happen closer to the birth than a typical “baby shower” would. I had mine about a month before I gave birth, and that was a nice time frame to get me in the birthing headspace and make me feel excited and prepared for what’s ahead. Talk to the guest of honor - see what they would like. The idea is to do this ceremony when the birth is approaching.

What exactly IS a Full Moon Circle?

Full moon circles are the private women’s circles listed on the “ceremonies” page - taking place under the beautiful, starry sky by the light of the full moon and a blazing fire. They feel even more transformative and powerful because these circles are rooted in the moon’s natural cycle of letting go. This ceremony invites participants to explore emotions, shed old energy, and set intentions for the cycle ahead.

Using my background in family and couples therapy and experiential techniques, I craft each circle to foster emotional insight and connection — both within yourself and with the supportive community around you. Through guided reflection, ritual, and shared wisdom, these circles create space to process life transitions, honor personal growth, and restore balance, leaving you feeling grounded, empowered, and renewed. There is something so breathtaking about gathering to tend to our souls by the light of the moon

What should my guests wear?

There’s no strict dress code, but many guests love wearing flowy, comfortable clothing or soft, earthy colors to match the nurturing, spiritual vibe of the ceremony. You want to be comfortable moving around, so nothing too restrictive. If the ceremony is outdoors, let your guests know so they can dress accordingly.
